A little disturbed by people objecting to media “humanizing” [people who do bad things].
Because they are human. That’s… It’s not up for debate. They’re human.
Are you arguing that people who do certain bad things – despite being, in fact, human – must only be depicted in media as two-dimensional cardboard-cutout inhuman villains? For, what, propaganda purposes?
Object to glorifying, certainly. Object to valorizing, yes. Object to making heroes of, often. But object to humanizing?
People don’t stop being people because we don’t like them.
dad you don’t understand everyone is worshipping at the obelisk these days
it’s literally nothing like pondering the orb oh my god 🙄 and you didn’t let me do that either, even though everyone else’s parents did and they were FINE
A few years ago a Facebook thread showed up on my feed that was like “cryptically admit your darkest secret!” and so i went through the comments and some old dude made a comment that gave me massive creep vibes so I went through his online social media presence, eventually found his ancient myspace which was linked to a deviantart account that led to another random skeevy art website he was on where he was drawing nothing but ruby gloom cartoon porn so I went back to the Facebook thread and posted a screenshot of the account under his comment. He lost his shit and when I asked if the ruby gloom fixation was why his ex wife left him he blocked me.
